can you see the societal aspect of this picture.

Look very deep into it.

In a nutshell it shows something profound

Initial look shows just 2 girls that are smiling sometime in the 1980s but a picture can be deceiving unless you look at it with knowledge

 
The fact that Bantu people are still used for physical labour until today?

Or that Somalis don't like to get hands-on and which is stunting their economic growth?

From what i can see it's either:

a) The Somali woman eating the banana is reaping the reward of the Bantu women's labour

b) The using of the head and neck of moving stuff around

c) Unpaved roads? lol

Somalis are not willing to do things for themselves?

The stock of bananas that the Bantu woman is carrying does not seem as ripe as the ones that are in the Somali woman's hands do; maybe that has something to do with it?

Edit: You mentioned something about smiling. So I'm guessing the picture is in reference to a Somali exploiting someone less privileged (in terms of wealth); but that person is smiling regardless since they'd be able to feed their family from the payment they receive for their labour?
