Reer twitter are crying in his mentions on why he's so pessimistic, Somalis just don't like being told the harsh truth. They accused him of being racist for telling them the truth about how shithole Somalia is. :mjlol:

it is time for change, it is time for farmaajo 2016 let us make Somalia great again. Enough of 20 years of shitting at Somalia.

I've just read it. Lol. It wasn't controversial but Somalis about everything.

Xamar is very promising though. My own mother moved her business from her clan city to Xamar and despite some issues, it was a very good decision. Better workers (Bantu Somalis) and better returns.

Somalia is by all measures a fail state, in the sense that the central government has little to no power in most of the terroritey it claims to rule and can't excute some of the most basic governance such as security, pass laws, or patrol it's sea or land borders, not to mention administer service such as education or healthcare. Most of those duties has been taken over by regional or city governments-like structures, whom are largely based on clam-structures.

The man is not being a racist, though he is colored by his western upbringing, and Somalia is seeing small improvements neglect-able to the naked eye.
It just needs much more, and that won't come until a positive peace and not a periodic cease of hostilities happen.

Receipts for the ones "crying on Twitter"
Only 'controversial' thing I could find was this
A full withdrawal is unlikely. Compared with a decade ago, Somalia’s problems are more contained. Piracy has all but stopped; al-Shabab are a guerrilla army, but not a conventional one. People are generally not starving. All that would be undone quickly if the foreign soldiers left. But the real prize—a Somalia with a functioning government and safe streets—seems as distant as ever.
Which is what an avid follower of only Western Media would say. Ignorance, but not unexpected or too controversial

Somalia has improved and it will rise again.
