What do you think of a secular Somalia?

What Somalia needs is to get rid of corrupt politicians/warlords set up a harsh secular government which will be an alternative to Jihadists.

I made a thread about this recently. http://www.somalispot.com/threads/i...c-dispute-expands-to-the-horn-of-africa.5501/
The thing is that I don't believe it should be a 'harsh secular governement', as the results will be better in the long term if you convince the people an have their support. But certainly right now, there is no alternative to the salafi-wahhabi funded crazies. They're either mollycoddle (because criticising them is like criticising islam) or don't address them. Neither can do in the long term, but they absolutely need to be challenged and properly.

The biggest argument for a secular Somalia is Dam Jadiid, a supposed religious party who have led us to be labelled the most corrupt government in the world.

Imagine if they actually had power and you tried to get rid of em, you'd be basically fighting against Allah at that point in a theocracy lol

HSM would be your Amiir forever

Wahabis destort the faith of islam, and use the cloak of Islam to try to Rob people of who they are. And if you criticise them you will be labeled anti Islam. Somali and
Swahili Islam has always been colourful, it's never been pitch black. Our Somali grandfather's were strong men who fought for both their religion and identity.
Somalis are 100 percent Muslim
But it doesn't mean we adhere to the same principles, we have sufis. You can be salafi all you like, but don't force others to adhere to your ideology.

No because Secularism is a myth. The west is not secular. Western societies they talk about the separation of Church and State. That’s a fallacy. Religion is intimately involved in the political as well as personal processes. The difference with the West is that they gave religion a space in the debate, but they also gave Reason a space in the debate. So the two are in this creative

The key for Somalia Is to create that space in which you can bring the faith into dialogue with reason so that before the day is over ignorant extremist Damu Jadiids will be run out of town.

I have seen this in the Islamic world; Malaysia and Turkey, for example. Take for example a group of scholars to both countries. You will see the coexistence at the universities of science and religion in a productive engagement.

not so sad after all
on a state level, rulers of a nation, if they are muslim, have to judge by the quran and sunnah. because just like we have to pray/fast (rules meant to be for the individual)_Allah also set rules that r meant to be applied by a judge or ruler. (punishments, civil jurisdiction)

and somalia pre-colonization used to rule using shafci interpretation of fiqh

I disagree with people making islam too hard for others though, by applying too strict laws because we are not all at the same level, however they're should be general rules that apply to a muslim population.
