Somehow we would have gotten an arm embargo again after probably trying to retake lands. Most likely several coupes instigated by other countries in order to remove communism leading to a successful sway into a democracy, only then to be torn down once again due to others meddling in Somali affairs and Somali’s not knowing what civil war would actually mean like they do now.

It’s still be a shitshow unless it’s like a China type fake communism. Either way it wouldn’t have lasted past the 90s and niggas would chimp out

Because there is no true communism, how can we expect to do it right when no one else has? Also communism would lead to major centralization of one particular city and the worshipping of an individual whom is in power aka fuel to the qabil fire.

China is doing it quite well tbh, I don’t think communism has reached its true power Soviet Union did good but could’ve been better tbh...

Those two countries were willing to let millions of their own die for their cause, what qabil do you think would ever let that happen to themselves?

communist somalia?:Durantwhat: it'd be a secularist's paradise in mogadishu and the usual outside of it. Siad barre was a 68iq retard and I doubt the socialism shtick would last after he died

That feeling you get when you didn’t get tagged :mjcry:

Horrible hypothetical.

At least you realize that Siyad, unlike Mengistu, wasn't a real communist, as he was using the ideology to seek benefits from the super powers at the time (Russia in particular). Once Russia seized to support his ideals, he sent them packing*. So to say that he was a 'communist' dictator in any sense is patently false.

Anyways, Somalia was doing far more better under a democratic government, which involved a smooth transfer of leadership. Regardless of how corrupt the government prior to Barre was, many Somalis view it as inherently preferable to the harsh and violent regime of Siad Barre. Moreover, even if Barre was less violent in his ways, and followed a true sense of a communistic ideals, many citizens would still rebel, since many would view his regime as repressive and a usurp of power to further one's clan's interest. Either way, we would do far more better under a leadership that follows the safe democratic process of power.

*Ironically, Barre sidelining the Soviets, as well as refusing to deal with them, is one of the main reasons why the Ogaden war was lost; and also one of the main causes of the brutal civil war during the 90's. Had he peacefully dealt with them prior to the Derg regime coming into power, we would've most probably achieved the 'Greater Somalia Dream' as of now. So, in a sense, you're correct in your assertion that if Barre had been a 'Communist' (or at least pretended to), there wouldn't have been a civil war.
