What Is Your Opinion On Democracy By Shaykh Muqbil رحمه الله

You allowed a man by the name of Muqbil ibn Hadi al-Wadi'I- known through his books and tapes for his propensity to insult and disparage those of the Ulema who disagree with him, those who call unto Allah, and the pious of this Community of Islam - to produce some research at the end of his studies at the Islamic University of Madina titled "About the Dome Built over the Grave of the Messenger, peace and greetings be upon him" sponsored by Shaykh Hammad al-Ansari. In this paper he demands openly and without shame that the Noble Grave be brought out of the Mosque, deems the presence of the Grave and Noble Dome there major innovation, and asks that they both be destroyed! On top of this you granted him high marks na da passing grade!

Do you honor those who challenge the Messenger of Islam, the Beloved of Allah, the Mercy to the Universes and His Intimate Friend? Then this man directed hundreds of his followers, imitators, and their kind among those influenced by your School, bearing arms, to destroy and unearth the graves of the pious Muslims in Aden, Yemen, a few years ago 26 . They roamed the land spreading corruption and ruin, digging up the graves of the dead with picks and spades until they brought out the bones of some of the dead and blind dissension. We heard they even used dynamite in some places! All this is a part of the record of your deeds.

What does any of this have to do with whether democracy is correct?

You said previously that Islam allows for democracy. Are you defending true Islam or are you defending democracy?

Democracy is just inclusive Shura. Idk what's unislamic about that, referring to random Ayas without making a connection doesn't count as evidence IMHO.

"Some people think that the word democracy is equivalent to shoora (consultation) in Islam! This is a mistaken notion for many reasons, including the following:

1. Shoora has to do with new matters that arise or with matters that are not explained in detail in the texts of the Qur’an or Sunnah. With regard to the “rule of the people”, the people may discuss what is well-established in religion, which may lead to refusing to acknowldge the prohibitions on that which is forbidden, and to forbidding that which Allah has permitted or made obligatory. So the sale of alcohol is permitted according to these laws, as are fornication/adultery and riba (usury), but these laws put pressures on Islamic organizations and the activities of those who call people to Allah. This is diametrically opposed to sharee‘ah, so what does this have to do with shoora?

2. The majlis ash-shoora (consultative committee) is to be formed of people who have a deep knowledge of fiqh, Islam and sharee‘ah, fahm, and have a high level of piety and good character. So no one who is of bad character or foolish, or is a disbeliever or atheist, is to be consulted or involved in the shoora process. As for the democratic councils of representatives, they pay no attention to any of the con ditions mentioned above. The representative may be a disbeliever, or of bad character or foolish. What does this have to do with shoora as prescribed in Islam?

3. Shoora is not binding upon the ruler; the ruler may give precedence to the view of one member of the council that is supported by proof, and prefer his view over that of the other council members, whereas in the case of representative democracy, the agreement of the majority becomes legally binding upon the people."

Shariah is enough for those who believe. Secular governance is human ideology. The shariah is how Allah azza wajjal has commanded us to govern ourselves. Anything else is innovative and will lead to the hellfire.

100 lashes för having sex, i dont think i want to have a friend who that is ok or go near a country with that legal system.

Sharia law is a man made, Islamic-style legal system. Its laws are inspired by Islamic Hadiths and portions of the Quran, with most laws being made through specific interpretation of the original inspirations.
The big issue surrounding Sharia law is the big question: is it correct to force everyone to adhere to Islamic Sharia laws?
Separate issues then spin out from there:
  • Do Non-Muslims need to follow the laws? Is that right to force religion on them?
  • Since the Quran says “there is no compulsion in religion” (2:256), then is is correct to even force Muslims to follow Sharia law? Won’t their rewards (barakat) be stolen since they have no choice to follow good Islamic principles over bad actions, since their government is forcing them to follow Islam?
  • Punishments: are they too harsh? In example: stoning, cutting hands, etc.
  • Women’s rights. This is a hot button. In the Quran, women are supposed to have more rights than men, but somehow that gets lost in Sharia.
  • Who gets to make the laws? Some “Sharia” laws are made from political standpoints, to benefit certain parties.
There are more concerns, but these seem to be the main ones that surface. Also, when a government uses repressive tactics in the name of Islam, the population and world blame the religion instead of the government, so there is a lot of Muslim hate speech that surrounds Sharia law topics as well.
In the most correct terms, Islam is not meant to be forced on anyone, no matter non-Muslim or Muslim. Islamically, every human is supposed to be able to make their own life choices which will be judged by Allah (swt) on the final Judgement Day at the end of the world. Sharia law as it is being popularly practiced, is wrong. Notable states that use it incorrectly:
  • Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan, and —if you can even consider them states— ISIS and Taliban territories.
There are probably many who support those places and their Sharia laws, but the main thing to remember in any argument is that they force people to follow Islam. They have stolen the rewards of people’s actions.
There is only one state that practices Sharia in a somewhat acceptable fashion, that I know (please tell me if there are more), and that is Malaysia. They actually let their citizens choose to be judged by either a secular court or a Sharia court. Laws are secular, unless the particular citizen says they want to follow Islamic Sharia laws. It gives religious choice back to the people while still being able to hold people accountable by secular laws. It’s not completely correct, Islamically speaking, because there is some degree of force needed to enforce laws, but it is the most correct way we have today.

Allah azza wajjal created these laws as deterrents. That's the point. You should be terrified enough to not commit zina, at the very least in the land of the believers.

None of this toxic dribble you copy and paste from anti-islam sites prove anything, it doesn't prove sharia is man made rather it shows the author has a problem with islam combined with a secular bias POV

Furthermore do you even know what sharia is ?

Sharia is islam, if you claim sharia is man made you claim the religion is man-made and that the prophet was a liar.

Audubillah

This makes you a kafir apostate so it makes sense why you are against the diin because you are not a muslim to begin with.

I dont know why you seem to have comprehension of a 15yorld but the point still stands. I sugest you stop being salty, you and I both know any where his type of thinking leads to. I am amazed by your lack of empathy för people.

The one who lacks comprehension is the one who can't seem to see the flaws of secularism and its effects on society and people as individuals
