What's your internet speed?

I use my t.v. to watch Netflix etc so opted for 50mbps which was working out fine, really fast with no connectivity issues. Then I get an e-mail telling me I'm getting an extra 20mbps, total 70mbps for nothing. Just a free upgrade. I'm wondering who the hell needs it but I didn't turn it down. I don't know what to do with it though I have unlimited mobile internet so I don't need it for the back yard.

What speed do you guy's have? Is there anything you can't do if yours is slow?

Who is your broadband provider? And how much are you paying? I wouldn't complain if I was you as long as you are not paying the free upgrades.

I've recently switch from virgin media to sky and gosh did I regret it afterwards.

I pay around £30 with discounts for a bundle. I'm not paying for the upgrade but I had another discount of £5 a month which ran its course, I thought they'd raised the price so I called them. Then I guess they thought I'd end my contract or something and they offered me a free upgrade to 73 mbps either that or this band replaces the old one. I'm with a local supplier you guy's don't have.

What's Sky like? Are you on a long contract with them?

I have this at the moment. I pay $70 for some reason. I've started to watch alot of TV shows and I've noticed it can be slow sometimes when streaming.

Is my plan good enough for streaming or does it seem like they are lying about their speed since there is lagging?

Up to 30 is OK when streaming standard quality on a laptop but when it's HD you'll get lagging and it's not good enough to stream on a T.V. On peak hours or whenever it's busy in your area it gets worse. I'd switch companies to that one you screenshot, check when your contract ends. Sometimes they give you a good deal if you're set in leaving. Take the 60mbps option you won't regret it. It will download it instantly. On 50 I'm watching HD without issues.

You can always check your real internet speed on line. I don't know the best site for Canada but here some sites will test your speed and compare it to your area and also tell you which providers do best.

I'm not on a contract and my company already gave me 6 months 50% off like they do all other new customers. I can go back and forth every 6 months to the other company offering the same deal.

I'll probably switch to the 60 Mbps tomorrow. You know I only spend maybe 30gb a month though. Only 10% of what I'm given. I usually only go on webpages

If you're just on a smart phone it seems luxurious lol I don't know my smartphone speed it's just unlimited they never advertise the speed here just the data. It's much slower than my home broadband though. I think getting $10 off and twice the speed is a great deal.

The upload speed is off but they always give a low speed for that. I'd bring it up. They get away with it because we're usually consuming the internet and rarely adding files that are as big as what we download. Hardly anyone complains.

just as unnecessary as the fathers 6 cars

You can at least use 6 cars. But there's no use for 1gig ps not even ultra HD needs that much. Or maybe the house is too big for regular super speed. I never understood super rich people it always looks to me like they're wasting money for fun.
