When I was visiting Mogadishu in 2014, I saw some sad stuff.

I saw a kid run up to eat some food spilled on table accidentally by the server. Very sad hungry kids are watching nearby waiting for food to spill at restaurant table. Then I also noticed young adult men only ordering rice because its cheaper and only $2 instead of the $6 price for regular dish with meat.

The restaurant even told us to eat out of view so we don't get hit by the evil eye.

I also noticed bunch of heavily armed soldiers arrive and just eat food and not pay and tell restaurant they'll pay another time.

Shortly after I left in March of 2014, that hotel behind me got assaulted and attacked. Some of the guards seen there behind me were killed by Shabaab. Very sad.

Mogadishu is beautiful. I hope it becomes great again with jobs and prosperity.

Is that Knaan next to you?

Haven’t seen anything that bad. Worst I’ve seen is little kids washing cars for money instead of being in school. Having said, kids back home are a lot happier. Always a smile on their faces.

aamiin 🙏🏽

But I don’t understand the relevance of the picture.
To show I am in Mogadishu. The same Maka Al Mukarama road and those soldiers behind me guarding that hotel were attacked the next month and hotel attacked by Shabaab

Thanks for sharing your experience bro. I hate when I see tribalist brag about their degan or mamul as if its something to brag about or they themselves would happily live in. When they hype up some tribalist criminal "leader" who serves to perpetuate our struggle as a people and country.

May allah improve somalia inshahllah

Huuno thats ok. They are going through their processes of being a human. Its a human experience. Its not going to be that way always. Thats how u build character. Even i sometimes deny myself good stuff, i rather not spend money even though my heart desires it. Sometimes i indulge, sometimes not.

Hunger is real, but i am sure not always. God provides inshalaah
