Lately, Somalis who work in retirement homes have discovered other Somalis who have been left there by their family, who have never visited since.

One report in particular is a Somali girl who worked as a nurse in a retirement home who found a coherent Somali male who was unkempt. He sobbed as he told her that his kids left him here when his wife died, and his bad English couldn't save him from being declared incapable.

I know Somalis aren't like Indians or Pakistanis who make their parents move in with them after their honeymoon but is there a point in your life where you will care for your parents or leave them in the care of others?
