I’ve read theories that the language family either originated in the Red Sea Hills or the upper Nile valley.
What’s the evidence for either, I understand the Nile valley theory considering the genetic evidence but I’m more confused by the Red Sea hills theory, Is it because of the Beja?
Also what’s the oldest Cushitic language known? Is it Ancient kushites or some other northern People like the Blemmyes?
To my understanding finding the origin location of the Cushitic languages is key to finding the natufian like ancestors origin too as they’re likely one of the same. This is due to the fact that Cushitic populations have this ancestry in abundance.
Any papers concerning the origin of the language family is welcome.
