I have noticed lately that people keep blaming the masked boys for the country not moving with statements like when 'alshabab gets beat' or after after alshabab the rebuilding can start. Have people forgotten that the country was in a worse state before alshabab who formed in 2006?

Even if alshabab is eradicated is the issues that plagued the south since 91 going to vanish:mugshotman:

Those old beefs are dying down. People tasted what peace and development can do to change their lives and they don't want to go back to war. Right now it's just Al Shabaab and a few mini skirmishes caused by federalism.

Are you sure the old beefs are dying out or have you not followed whats been happening in Lower shabelle or the cleansing in Deefow or the claims on lands popping up every now and then like Yeed and so on?

Much of the former militias have just put on a government shirt but still operate in their old ways its just the threat of shabab seems to have made them put their usual business on hold for now.

Since we somalis are biased to the core its better you use google to get info from all parties involved.

To me it looks like a federalism issue. These issues can be resolved diplomatically unlike the war where each party was hell bent on annihilation. Even if it was a resource issue those guys used to take clans out of towns through fear of killing and rape. It's a different situation now that there's a basic framework to work with. Clans are open to power sharing which was impossible during the war.

Xawaadle are the Dir of Hawiye lol

All clans want protection abaayo. After a war it's hard to trust a guy from a different clan ruling where you're money comes from. They'll take taxes and you won't see it go anywhere but their clansmen will get jobs they're not qualified for lol, that sort of thing. They could power share but everyone's seen Jubaland where Fartaag has no power and Madobe denies Mrx casualties. That's why everyone's so desperate to get total control. We need a strong central state and that's where Hassan Sheikh failed everyone.
