Why are Somalis nomadic?

Our people are known for being nomadic, having long legs and more. But what’s the reason to this?

Not all somalis are nomadic, many are farmers and fishermen too and we’ve historically been known for producing merchants in the mass too. Minority clans are also known for being blacksmiths, do pottery etc
