Why do Somali fathers allow macalins to beat their daughters?

Someone in the comments pointed out something very true… These macalins never put their hands on or allow other people to beat their own daughters but they are ok beating other peoples daughters..

Also some macalins are pervs they get a kick out of beating these little girls especially.

Where are the men in the community and why are they allowing this type of behavior?

Misogyny. Specifically they believe that their daughters (and sometimes sons) getting beat will make them closer to the deen and not fall into western ways like removing the hijab. Also (some not all before you come at me) of these dads are fuleys who won’t stand up to another man even if he is abusing your kid.

I agree wholeheartedly, if I send my daughter to dugsi and the macalin beats her. I’m running a fade with the nigga. I sent her there to learn, not to be violently conditioned to fear making a mistake in ashar. It’s better to nurture people to learn through guidance and positive reinforcement instead of cultivating an environment of fear and anxiety. Only gonna cause issues for the kid later on. Funnily enough my mum told me a story about how my awoowe went to fight her Macalin cuz he stood on my uncles neck. This sort of barbaric behaviour creates a cycle of generational trauma. Dugsi should have a licence to operate and should be regulated by some sort of educational body that sanctions and imprisons those who abuse and traumatise children.

I don’t think it’s misogyny, young boys also get beat and quite violently too I have a lot of dugsi stories from my uncles who got destroyed but my mum liked the macalin a lot and wasn’t beat. I think it’s just the way that Macalins believe they can condition children into learning through fear. But this approach is detrimental to a child’s development. The macalin themself was probably a victim of it too but passed it down . A mass education campaign is needed as well as a regulatory body for dugsis so they’re not harming children physically and also not radicalising them.

I live in Canada and used to be beat by the macalin in 2007 until my mom took me to a female macalin… I think in the past couple years it’s stopped tho ur right

the macalins in somalia are just sickos, half of the job is just beating up and torturing kids. it's dehumanizing to the children in particular and can damage their psyche. it's not as extreme in the west because there are laws against that shit, and people there tend to respect the innocence of children a lot more

you need to also look into how parents are okay with it, they don't mind if their kid spends their day in these places as long as there is no buuq in the house.

It happened in Europe during the late 90s I remember when I was a kid going to dugsi and the macalin and a massive red toothbrush which I think was there to hit any of the children. I cant remember if it happened so i have to ask my mum but yeah

The Maaclin couldnt beat me up at school or dugsi else they wanted my Aabo whooping his ass out of town. They were very scared of my Aabo like they couldnt try shit with me at all. I remember some hooyo slapped me so hard and I went to her Aabo cuz he knew my Aabo and she got into big trouble. Parents need to make other adults scared of them and they wouldnt try this shit. I think my Aabo talked to the duugsi and School too cuz whenever I was in the class no one got hit at all. I went to duugsi here in Canada too like in the 2010s but we never got hit. But it was some somali after school duugsi where they rented out a room in a school and got vetted. But some of my family members who went to duugsi around your time yeah they got hit.
