Why do somali women back home use so much products on their faces?

We have beautiful women but damn somali women at weddings back home just ruin their faces with two kilos of make up and use skin lightening
They look way less attractive than their potential, actually habesha women look better cause they don't use that much shit on their faces.
You see documentaries of 1970s Somalia and the women look beautiful but now if you see the average wedding in Xamar or Hargeysa the women look very unattractive because of the make up
