Why do we have a shortage of art for Somali characters?

To clarify, for example, there is art for Arab and Roman characters and other cultures, but when we look at interesting Somali characters like Imam Ahmed, there is a lack of art for him. What are the reasons for this? Is it religious or cultural?

Both. Most cultures didn't use art for every historical thing. Nearly all of these European arts were made during the 1800s btw. Arabic ones also.

Somali culture wasn't big in paintings and those in the upper class who would be able to commission them were also religiously devout and would not.

I've always said that we need an art piece of Ahmed Gurey conquering Ethiopia 💯
A piece of him executing and being presented the head of the Portuguese general. The ethiopian emperor running naked.
The Adalite knights.
Imam ahmad leading Calvary.
So much Walahi.

Even the Sultanate of Urjuan, when they and the Ottomans were fighting the Portuguese, or even the Dervishes, or we dealt with other empires, or we spread religion in parts of the world, we can do this in the future by collecting narratives, and the rest will be done by Western or even Somali painters, and at least gave us a picture of these periods previously.

You have asked a valid question. It's factually incorrect and intellectually dishonest for you to classify semetic-speaking kingdoms and figures as Somalis. Imam Ahmed wasn't Somali. He was born in Hubat, which was one of the principalities of the Harla people. Imam Ahmed's father was the garad of Sim, which was the heartland of the Harla people. Imam Ahmed is believed to be either Harla or Balaw, according to the majority of historians and reputable scholars.

Somali art is poetry. We use to develop poetry during war for our victory. That was our heritage, to be orators of our epics. To pass down and document these great poets, that's our duty. We don't need to emulate others.

Also I'd like to point out that art that often depict Arabs or Muslims in general were made by non Muslims. The Muslim world was more into calligraphy than portraits.

Because you are attributing historical semetic-speaking empires and figures to Somalis. That is factually incorrect. Sxb, I am only asking you to be intellectually honest.
How many times do you want to be intellectually Xooged in the cultural server? You got Xooged repeatedly. and Cushitic languages are semitic since Cush is considered to be the son of Shem in Islam unless your a kafir and follow the 80 version updated in trillion languages 40 anonymous authored bible. In fact, it would be foolish and unjust to deny that Somali is a Semitic language, as those who have lived in close geographical proximity to true Islamic narratives and lineages will attest to. It has always baffled me how people could categorise habeshi groups as semitic when they are landlocked and on land, and how the actual inhabitants of the horn's entrance and who actually align with crossing red sea to settle, the literal stepping stone, and the region where the Middle East, once known as Greater Cush by romans and greeks, were connected—not as semitic as their neighbours, which is absurdly ridiculous.

Facts: I always hear Somalis feel that they are wonderful
