The tax rates for rich people in Canada aren't much different from the United States. In fact, it's actually much lower.

In America, the top tax rate is 39%. In Canada it's only 33% (and it was actually much lower during the Harper era).

Those are federal tax rates. Those NBA players pay around 50% when provincial taxes are factored in.

U.S. state income taxes can be just as high. I'm fact when you're factoring federal and provincial tax rates vs US State and Federal tax rates.....Canada still manages to come out on top. Our taxes for the rich are similar to the rates paid in the U.S.

i think they recently added a signing bonus to offset some of the taxes for Toronto. But at the end of the day Toronto usually overpays people anyways. but its still pretty high unless you play in florida or Texas .

I think California has the highest at 13% while many states have single digit income taxes while places like Texas has 0%. I guess you have to compare jurisdiction to jurisdiction and at what income levels.

We need 10% flat federal/provincial income tax for all people with 20% HST. And get rid of every single one of those tax credits.
