Our biggest trade partners are the other Arab League countries. Hell we are the Middle East' biggest source of live sheep, selling them over 5 million sheep in 2014. We also export alot of other agriculture, like frankincense. Considering 70% of Somalias work force work within agriculture, and that agriculture is 60% of Somalias GDP we are not in a position to cut ties with the Arab League
And Somalia is suspected by many experts to be rich in untapped minerals, gas, uranium and such because of our geographical proximity to the Middle East. If we don't f*ck this up either and we get get plentiful of the minerals, gasses and ofc that Oil, joining OPEC would be easy considering its mostly same memberbase as AL. That alone would help solidify Somalias Worldwide position as a Leader in Africa
And one thing that the Gulf States are good at is turning deserts into top 10 tourist destinations. Since we already have pretty likewise landscape as Gulf States, taking notes from how they built infrastructure and getting advice about it first hand would be good for us. We already have coastal cities with "exotic" sounding names that attracts rich Asians and white tourists.
So, for the time being we should not leave the Arab League. For those whining about 'Bu huu but the saudis kicked some Somalis out" You should bw thankful. At least they aren't getting the chance to be indoctrinated by the Saudis into becoming Al-Shaabab fodder
In the far future tho Insha'Allah Somalia with make Nukes with our Uranium, and put massive resources into large shipping ports, that we will use to get goodies from India and China to further export into Africa, making us a major country in Africa economy wise.
And no don't confuse this for some dhegacas bootyclapping
