Suicidal men adore me.
They're trying but it seems like it's going to be a hard task. Neighboring Gulf states have other sectors like real estate and tourism working for them. Oil represent around 90% of their national revenue and considering the low oil prices that is very concerning. How are they going to diversify their economy?

Religious tourism alhaj and al omra is paying a lot for them some years more then the oil revenue

Their problem is, they are too much of reer baadiyiin.

I was watching this interview last night of this 30yrs prince who was put in charge of the whole country.

Saudi Arabia has a bright future ahead of it so long as it remains a US ally. the main focuses for SA should be becoming a fully industrialised nation with a strong manufacturing base.

In the near future Saudi will be dominating the Red Sea trade aswell as the Middle East regions economy and Africa. Current projects like the king abdullah economic city or KAEC for short will answer many of Saudis economic challenges.

dont worry, somalia will feed saudi arabia if they invest in our huge agricultural potential plus we are only 12 million people.we export huge food stuff to Saudi arabia from MOGADISHU AIRPORT

$2 trillion is actually a lot of money. If they invest correctly, like buying shares in upcoming companies or technologies, then they don't have to depend on Oil.

If your country has not developed an industrial base by now, it is already too late. The advanced world to whom you could sell your products is in demographic decline and have already started to automate manufacturing. Even if Saudi Arabia were to start manufacturing, all the workers would be South Asian migrants. The average Saudi is very work shy.
