Will you raise your kids in the West ? I have met some families who raised their grown kids in different parts of Africa and the Middle East. The vast majority of them hold degrees from Ryerson, York, UFT and Guelph. Some even went out of province and obtained degrees from Ottawa, Carleton, McGill, Queens and Montreal. It seems like they are doing better than kids who were raised in public housing. Would you consider raising your kids outside of the West to guarantee their success in life?

if i’m fortunate enough to have lots of money in the way i’m going rn it seems like i will. than I won’t raise them here. i’ll have a house in the west and i’ll make sure they speak english and take trips to the usa but i don’t plan on raising them here. Maybe an arab country or African, i can’t think of any stable african countries though

Stability is important for children.
It is better to raise them in the place they spent their formative years.

I know kids who resent their parents because they dropped them to some boarding school in Somalia when they were teenagers and that messed them up. Now this kid is an adult and has a hard time adjusting while their peers are graduates and all.

As a second ethnic woman, i raised my kids in the west. They are fine. A little spoilt and bad aaf somali but its ok. Nothing is perfect. As long as they are not killers or sex addicts, or atheist, i think Mashalaah they are successful.

That’s different those are actually the wealthy somalis that can afford their kids going to university abroad, you can’t compare that to a kid living in government scheme house going to uni with student loans
