Women-Only Services: East vs. West

So, I’ve been working on this little project of mine—a women-only Uber app. I know it’s already a thing in some Western countries and is pretty common in Muslim-majority countries, but I just wanted to create one for fun. I’m not planning to launch it or make it big—I just like coming up with ideas and solving problems as a hobby.

While researching, I noticed that women-only taxi services already exist, but they’re still pretty niche. I think it’s because there aren’t enough women willing to do “undesirable” or unsociable jobs, like driving random people around at night. That’s why this is just a fun side project for me and not something serious.

But here’s what really stood out to me: in Muslim-majority countries, women-only services like this are super normal and accepted. No one bats an eye. In fact, these kinds of spaces are everywhere. But in the West? Oh my God, some men would completely lose their minds. I don’t think Muslim men in the West would care, but a lot of the Gaalo men would go absolutely ballistic. They’d probably report it, sue it, boycott it—maybe even burn it to the ground.

It’s so bizarre how offended some men get when women want their own spaces or services. Like, take the reaction when a Muslim woman doesn’t shake a man’s hand. Some men are cool and respectful, but others act like it’s a personal attack on their entire existence.

Honestly, if a women-only Uber app ever really took off in the West, I can only imagine the chaos. What do you guys think

Western men feel entitled to women and want to always have women available for them to ogle and flirt with. Muslim men understand that women need their spaces to be themselves and feel comfortable.

Gaalo women too are brainwashed by their society to think genders being together all the damn time is okay (even in the bathroom!) even though they constantly get sexually harassed in these spaces.

A lot of the time though, when gaalo women live in Muslim areas like Gulf countries, they realize how comfortable it is to have so many women only spaces. I’ve seen many saying so on social media

I love women only spaces. Would be nice to have more around here tbh. And you’re very right, these people feel entitled to women. It really is a West vs East mentality.

I wish there was women only apps like this and also women only carts in buses and trains.
100% they need to do this. I remember one time my friend was taking the subway at nighttime and some dude was harassing her she had to run out. And for me like I try to not make eye contact with anyone cuz it’s not safe at all.

Poor gal. Public transport is unsafe for women. There are some asian countries that have only women carts yet the males still attempt to harass them smh. I know that japan (or was is south korea?) has a section in their normal train that is only women. The entire section is painted pink however it is still open to the rest of the train so they can see each other. You'll see men standing so close to the edge of the lines that the area for women begins / ends. It's absolutely insane.

Both countries have issues with it but yeah its Japan. I remember reading an article for it. And for Korea I heard that by law their phones have to make a shutter sound when they take a photo because of this issue.
