In Somali language curious is called Heellan.

Synonym: faduul, faduuli, heel (n)

Sentence:
Weligayba waan u heellanaa gabayga.

I have always been curious/inquisitive about poetry.

I stand corrected but Heellan means On Stand-by, Ready, Open to Helping, Ready to Engage etc.

In Somali, the word "curious" has many interpretations.

Curious - Ogaal Raadis

When they say Curiousity killed the Cat, it means wanting to know about other people's affairs can get you killed sometimes. Hence, Ogaal raadis aka Searching Info, Wants to know, Wants to Learn.

It is all about gaining an insight, so the word Heellan has a different meaning in English.

Heellan - Stand By, Ready to engage etc.

Which word do you need to see in an example?

Heellan as in Ready, Eager and Pumped up?

Or Curious as Inquisitive - Ogaal Raadis?

Do you know that Heellan also means Ujajaban?

Let me know.

You argue that 'Heellan' does not mean curious. You gave a new definition (^) of Heellan. Using that definition you gave me, let's construct a sentence to determine if it is accurate.

or maybe find a sentence which is not yours. It doesn’t matter.

In Somali:

Qof kale ayaa u heellan howshan

In English:

Someone else is eager/more than ready for this job

Hope that helps. Heellan is not curious but more than willing, too eager, ready etc.

Curious is more like Ogaal-doon, Ogaal-raadin, You could say maskax furan ama jecel inuu wax ogaado. Similar to inquisitive.

Ukuurgelis

Ufiirsasho.

Ukuurgelis = To give consideration to, to Consider or Ponder. I think you engage in Ukuurgelis when you plan on doing something and you have to do assessment of a situation?

Ufiirsasho = Same as above. When you say this issue requires Ufiirsasho, Ukuurgelin, you mean the issue requires assessment, consideration.

Tixgelin ==> To give consideration to, to Consider or Ponder

Ufiirsasho ==> To give special attention

Ukuurgelis ==>To get curious

Wax ka ogaansho==> To get curious, to try to find out.

Kuur+galitaan
Kuur is the name of an object you hide behind when you patiently wanting to get to the bottom of something . The word comes from the old days when Faraxz would go out hunting and hide behind a tree or some object to get to their prey .
kuurgalitaan I think has a more deeper meaning than just curiosity. It could mean to Plott, investigate or get to the bottom of .

Heegan means stand-by, ready etc.

Heegan baan ahay
I’m ready to help. I’m on standby

I use 'faduuli', of which root is Arabi, as in 'waa ilma agnaan* ah, faduulina ah'. Faduuli in its current popular application, has taken another meaning, as in someone who interferes in matters, which concern him not.

*Agnaan = Autistic.

فضولي
  • لغة: هو الذي يتدخل فيما لا يعنيه. واصطلاحا; العقد الفضولي هو العقد الذي يجريه شخص لآخر دون علمه، كأن يشتري أو يؤجر ونحو ذلك، والمشهور أن العقد الفضولي يصح إن أجاز صاحب العقد بعد علمه به.
و الفضولي (في الشَّرع) : من لم يكن وليَّا ولا وصيًّا ولا أصيلاً ولا وكيلاً.

This says in the Arabic discription: Linguistically, the word refers to someone who gets into what is not his business or related to him.

That is not what Curious person does. And Faduuli or Faduul in Somali is not the same as the Arabic word you quoted as well. In Somali, Faduuli is someone who tends to be an agressor.
