World's most FRAGILE cities: Mogadishu, Hargeisa, Merka, Kismayo ARE IN the top 20 global list

Earlier this year, the Igarapé Institute teamed up with the United Nations University, the World Economic Forum, and SecDev to analyze data related to these factors. They ended up with a picture of global fragility (and stability), which has since been assembled into an interactive map. Cities are ranked on a scale from 0-4, with 4 as the most fragile.

Out of the 66 cities whose scores fall between 3-4, the 20 most fragile include:

Kismaayo, Somalia - 3.9
Merca, Somalia - 3.9
Kabul, Afghanistan - 3.7
Al-Mawsil (Mosul), Iraq - 3.7
Aden, Yemen - 3.6
Kirkuk, Iraq - 3.5
Juba, Republic of South Sudan - 3.5
Ibb, Yemen - 3.5
Kunduz, Afghanistan - 3.4
Bunia, Democratic Republic of the Congo - 3.4
Al-Basrah (Basra), Iraq - 3.4
Baaqoobah, Iraq - 3.4
Hargeysa, Somalia - 3.4
Al-Raqqah, Syrian Arab Republic - 3.4
Sana'A, Yemen - 3.4
Al-Mukalla, Yemen - 3.4

Hargeisa is very unstable. Ive been there a few times as a tourist. I personally saw a gun clash between the army/police and locals. I had to hide under my bed.

Hargeisa also has many incidents of murdered protestors whenever an election happens.

Hargeisa is an Isaaq city which is the largest Somali city on the peninsula.Ofcourse we need some Hartis begging in my capital city for a couple Somaliland shillings :siilaanyolaugh:

Exactly, like, comeon. They grouped Hargeisa in with places being bombed and where active wars are going on. Nobody is saying it's heaven, but that's a bit much.

Only south Hargeisa is nice and stable. Most stable in all of Africa. Hargeisa would be a top 5 unstable city if it weren't for south Hargeisa

North Hargeisa full of Garadag Al Shabab/Al Itihaad supporting people that HA invited to live with them. Unstable and unsafe. 99% of crimes happen in North Hargeisa despite only having 1/3 of city's population

You can learn a thing or two about those peaceful and stable south Hargeisa inhabitants. Hargeisa needs to be divided into two cities. Maybe you should have your own airport in North Hargeisa
