When the oil is out. We need 50 billion dollars allocated to building infrastructure. 2.7 million people and no sewage system??? Where does the defecation go?
That’s a a lot of people, 15% of overall population damn. It was around 15% pre-civil war too

To my knowledge they dont have it across the city and large trucks transport the waste and dumps it outside the city.

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the real number was higher. Xamar is very dense and there’s been a lot of urbanization after the civil war, especially from Galgaduud and Mudug.

This was the topic of one of my first posts unfortunately it’s true somalia has basically no functioning waste management /sewer system. It needs to be worked on ASAP before we get to india levels. There is nothing looked down upon more than a nation and its people wallowing in filth and excrement and it being normal to them. Somalis need to fix this ASAP.
This is something NOBODYY can start a fuss about so Somalis better start campaigning for this ASAP back home because it will encourage to population to work collectively and have a desire to improve their society and environment. It’s good for the psyche

The residents are paying their share of taxes, its just corruption and inactivity from the leadership.
