It's not always the first. I was told a story of a muadhin (the guy who gives the call to prayers in the masjid) taking a second wife who was cadaan. I don't know his ethnicity but I'm pretty sure he was carab or timojilac. Anyway, the cadaan girl got treated like a booty call and he would sleep with her and leave her and go back to his first wife and not treat her like a wife at all. Eventually the cadaan girl had enough and got a divorce.

Soon after, the man ended up having a stroke and half his body was paralysed. SubhaanAllah he tasted a bit of the punishment in the dunya for what he did to that woman. Take heed, brothers.

These men are silly keeping that kind of info from their wife because it's just going to be worse when she finds out.

You know whats worse? These girls they're marrying from Somalia sometimes ain't angels - they're out sleeping with other men or have contracted diseases. So this man goes off, marries a second wife, gets an STD and then passes it on to his first wife. Wallahi if that was me I think my husband would leave the house in a body bag.

It's a trade off! Young gazelle marry the old man to get out of poverty. He rents her a mansion and gives her things she could never imagine.
