Revolutions need a large number of middle class thinkers and workers/peasants ready to revolt. Somalis haven’t formulated any political ideological or systematic changes to their way of living since the SYL or the failed Marxist qabil experiment by by Siad Bare. Islamist has always failed. Question marks remain over SL. Now, we are stuck with a debilitating and chronically corrupt 4.5 system designed by Ethiopia and reliant on aid.

I don’t know if a young people or technocrats in Somalia have the education or influence to start a movement challenging the status quota. Protesting against the government is useless because the whole system is rigged to divide Somalis along qabil lines. We need a broad network of nationalistic Somali thinkers and technocrats to come up with a reconciliation plan to overhaul the entire sysytem. Unlikely to happen as most Somalis are enslaved to qabil elders and politicians.
