I knew from the get go when Doha accords were signed. At some point that they were gonna abandon Somalia. Somali politicians spent their time looting as much they could. Instead of making necessary reforms not to rely on ”ATMIS”. PL/JL chose HSM because he was corrupt. Now it will comeback to bite them in the ass. AS as mooryaans they are. Probably have learned from their mistakes. They will be mooryaans towards their own civilians. But i dont see them blowing up ships. It would warrant another invasion. But likely these times will be tough for women.

It only takes pennies to keep Somalia afloat. Afghanistan sunk trillions and caused the death of thousands of American troop to force them out. Somalia by comparison is their real only success story in the war on terror so they aren't going to abandon it any time.

Somalia is an shithole. Each and every single penny matters to the US tax payers. Dont delude yourself. The situation wont change even if they stay for another 5+ years. US wants progress. Its been 18+ years. Its over

Quite the Islamist.
They already have established monetary source..independent of foreign funds (kind of..they take forceful 'zakawaat' from reer badiyes..paid in pure livestock and in dollars from the great Bakara). It will indeed get ugly when the aid money eventually decreases for the FGS . I suggest negotiations intay goor tahay hada..the best scenario for the uninvolved shacab and everyone of us. This back and forth doesn't depict a good picture for the FGS. The south was always the complicated part..if it indeed comes under one admin..the rest of the country would be easier imo.

If tax payers mattered then they have pulled out of Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria ect a long time ago so unless something really bad happens, then Somalia is effortless to keep around.

FGS formed in 2012, not 2007 and there has been progress since. You can see that with less Al-Shabab bombings, decline in piracy, and greater stability overall. If America did not have faith in Somalia then they would not have allowed the debt relief and arms embargo being lifted. And now there are plans of American bases being built in Somalia showing how America is interested in strengthening ties with FGS.

I rather him not inviting dogs of hell A*dstopians to do his dirty work for him. But in an alternative universe, things might have worked differently. But I despise his supporters. Literally not a single person in the world would praise an traitor the same way Somalis do against each other.

I also think it was wrong of him to go to Mogadishu and use foreign forces.. But something tells me foreign powers were dictating this behind the scenes to get rid of the ICU.

Alhamdulilah HSM is a sitting duck for 2026. These past 4 years he has been breaking down our SNA. starting with decreasing their monthly pay near the beginning of his term, and increasing the amount which the parliament make.

you’ll often see headlines like “national armed forces of Somalia fighting alongside so-so clan defeated al shabaab today” when it should only be the armed forces. We do not see this in Puntlands’s war on ISIS, because there is no benefit of dividing forces on clan lines when fighting terrorists. Only for HSM there is. Any stragglers who are clan fighters can easily be absorbed into the armed forces and get paid for it. Which speaks to the incompetence of Hassan’s national defence cabinet.

Hassan sheikh Mahamoud has his own plan for breaking Somalia apart so he can be president of Benaadir only, and the SNA are the only thing that can get in the way of that. So he continually gives them a hard time by bringing more foreigners and compromising their war.
