I enjoy seeing Cushites and Nubians highlighted in discussions of ancient egypt, but I dislike when West Africans/ descendants of chattel slavery claim that heritage. I read a book by a prominent Afrocentric scholar who argued that Senegalese people & a few random ethnic groups outside of northeast Africa having cultural continuity ๐Ÿ˜ญ. I do appreciate how they challenge the status quo, but their egos take lead & they resort to self insertion. Same thing with Europeans/ eurocentrists distorting parts of the truth. The truth oftentimes is somewhere in the middle..

There is surprisingly a fair bit of similarities between Somali and the ancient Egyptian language.

Qorax doesnโ€™t mean neck of the sun, it means sun king. Qor is a Cushitic word meaning king, you are getting it mixed up with qoor that sounds similar but is not, and means neck.
