I saw an old clip of NFD back in the colonial times and it was full of indians protesting side by side with somalis
They may be swahilis from lamu now that I think about it

I think that was when Muqdisho was was a real city and the Italians were moving out.
There was a huge Indian and Persian population in Somalia and they had representatives in parliament.
Most of them left after the Ogaden war when Barre turned to shit.
