Quite interesting. So it's not that ancient somalis were importing textiles but also exporting some of their own which was seemingly valuable to the ancient greeks and ptolemic egypt. This means that somalis had both a textile and a dye industries as far back as the first century ad. I tried to find the exact location but it's not that easy though it makes sense just look at this papyri and it's condition, i'm sort of sure that information about trade between greeks and the horn of africa is equally spars and rare to find.
