There’s a form of that on this very website where legitimate people with their own views are labeled as SJWs simply for identifying with a cause, or marching for someone’s death. Norway focuses on rehabilitating criminals. Not this notion of 'punishment' (fight against crime) crap the US like to emphasize because the criminals will be released and there's a big chance they will re-offend. To minimize recidivism is what the objective should be.

Most offenders are poor people that do non-violent crime out of economic needs.

Most times "criminals" have mental health issue, or cognitive impairment (learning disability, autism, aspergers), or both

They need to be in mental asylums, not prisons

Some do work but most don't. I believe America are more likely to use prisoners for labour(i believe).

to be fair, they do have a lower rate of repeat offending compared to countries with stricter prison with less perks.
