Somaliland's strategic location is more valuable than whatever natural resources it has anyway.

Somaliland has plenty of human capital. There's so many universities opening up due to the insane demand for higher education.
The problem is that there's limited investment due to it being associated with Somalia.
Keep your natural resources, Somaliland will be fine without it.

Parties based on clan lines are officially banned in Somaliland, but it's the electorate that chooses to vote that way regardless if they're being touted by the politicians.
This is just typical identify politics at play and we can find similar scenarios around the world such as in India (ethnicity/caste) to 1st world UK (class based system).
Somaliland may be majority Isaac bit it's founding principle was not to be a state for isaaqs only. In 1993 all clans agreed to the notion to create a state where everyone has the safety & security to live their lives & prosper. The heads of Dhullos & Warsans agreed at the time, I feel bad that Somaliland has let them down not servicing their areas on top of the creation of puntland a decade later who then then were successful in some parts to take them away.
But no once this useless admin in SL is taken out scared they might start a war for it hope not.
If Wadani win this election which will be in Dhullos favour yet have alot things planned for Sanaag & Sool

For the main purpose to rival Somaliland and give whatever government in Mogadishu an argument to tell the world to not accept somaliland followed by a bunch other fed states which put the aim in the coffin.
I'm not against Puntland, I love you lot immensely but claiming land based on clan lines is wrong especially when its already set in stone.
My Hope for Somali Nations AcceptSomaliland's Independence and begin a framework for a new relationship then create a new union of Somali States similar to that of the EU both Political & Economic that allows citizens of both the two to live work & do whatever they so please in both countries. then create a platform for business from both to trade with one another with ease.
