Show us the references and dispute their methodology. Leave the lmao ayy haha to dumarka, if you want to dispute a report by economists I want to see how.
Have you seen how many they use? Skim through them and google some of the documents then check what they base their data on. You will see that they use outdated data and even statistics from neighbouring countries. I'm not saying they did bad, they did well with what information they have.

Also I'm not refuting that Puntland has higher gdp per capita as you probably think, it is more than possible that it might be the case. The wage gaps in Somaliland and unenmployement etc is a big factor in this.

That's right they have previous figures including from 2013 and 2016 and are comparing them to newest figures in 2017,that's your point?:snoop:

Love the excitement from Samosa bois about the glorious SL takeover of Tukakaruk (can't be bothered to proper spell that Beggarbante village). Keep up the hype, little ones, while we're building roads, schools, and the such, just a few miles north, in a much more valuable area, that is part and within the borders of, your glorious, rich, prosperous country.

Check the references they base their data on, it's all guesswork. So much unrecorded data that those numbers at best are highly speculative. This is not a fact, this is nothing but a mere estimate.

Lordilord I expected better from you. I would understand if Puntland outperformed SL in one indicator that it could be a 'coincidence'. Even the researchers were surprised so they added other development indicators such as school enrollment. Do you the meaning of reliability and validity in statistics? Reliability tests if you repeat the tests several would it have the same outcome? If it has the same outcome, it can't be classified as coincidence. Not only did they repeat the tests they also added other indicators to see whether the outcome was genuine. And in those tests Puntland outperformed other regions. Validity tests whether the outcome is genuine and if other studies support the outcome. A UN report already established that a native in Bosaso earns around 4 times more than a native Hargeisian. Even an IDP in Bosaso earns around 50% more than a native Hargeisian. So other studies support the outcome.

Don't waste our energy on nonsense. Refute it but bring references.

You are right, it is a valid report and more than just a mere estimate. They used the information they have well and I guess it is kind of far fetched of me to believe they should have even more extensive more current records. The situation in all Somali regions makes that difficult and I didn't consider that.

I admit, I went about it the wrong way. I was pissed about another thing related to this and it clouded my judgement. Puntland ha noolato, I really mean it. It's all love, your success is ours and vice versa.

It came of wrong, I will not try to deny any success Puntland has achieved or try to diminish it. This report is a good indicator of the situation at hand.

What do you think makes Somaliland and the other regions fall behind?

I'm just assuming but I think Somaliland has higher revenue and budget yet Puntland with limited budget manages not only on an equal level but outperform the other regions. It is certainly surprising, is it mismanagement of funds? Is there not more development going on in Somaliland and if that is the case how are they managing?

Where does Puntland get most of its income? Is it comparable to Somaliland?

What can Somaliland do better, im curious as to what you guys think.

Printing hella fake money , they get 3x food aid yet much smaller population . And the state brought in BILLIONS from piracy but all those resources are drying up now that the state is broke , cutting revenue 42% to a mere humiliating $92mil:mjlol:.

They can't even pay state employees anymore only paying employees 7months in 2017 , 5months in 2016. Things are worrying in puntland subhanallah the state may even collapse !

That is crazy, hope that doesn't happen lol. They seem kinda on the brink yet they actually manage.

Compared to Somaliland how big is their population?

It would be a big fat lie to suggest that this is due to the policy of Puntland. They measured remittance patterns and it showed that Puntland region had a different pattern than the rest: In Puntland, the people in the rural regions receive more remittances than urban people but in other regions urban people receive more than the people in rural areas, who actually need the most.

What Puntland admin can be praised for is they don't allow monopoly on the port. And their education policies. SL actually has higher enrollment but lower graduation rates indicating something goes wrong in the process
