Somalia had a civil war and SL decided to detach itself its more or less similar to S Sudan and Eritrea. Why is it they’ve achieved independence and you have not. Answer my question or gtfo:camby:

Didn't know Somalia was building their army, i thought army already existed. But congrats to my Somali brothers and sister. The Horn of Africa will prevail:superman:
3000-7000 troops are being trained in Eritrea. They were sent on August 19/October 20 2019. Should see them arrive mid year.

You've answered the question yourself by saying SL detached itself from the whole political landscape in 91. The other two countries engaged in full-scale wars that caused the international community to intervene and negotiate therefore give recognition. This is the sole reason why Somalia will never ever engaged in a war in SL to get them to bend the knee as it will have massive ramifications in the international community.

I estimate that currently the SNA has ~5000 elite offensive troops made up of gorgor, danab and 500 Hamarcad commandos.

Operations have picked up , one interesting situation i read was how they catch people loading up suicide vans. They seem to be patrolling regions and attacking hideouts forcing Al-shabab to stay indoors.

Trump was arguably great for Somalia, his drone strikes forced Al-shabab to be consistently hiding.

Niyow we’ve been seeing the same “SNA Turkish trained soldiers” since 2011, yet AS is more powerful than ever :ftw9nwa:
:noneck:
The troops training started in 2017. 2011 Mogadishu was under Alshabab control and 80-90% of the south was under Al-shabab control. Now less then 20% are and we are seeing what 10 years of offense has lead to.

Next 10 years if the government focuses on security we will have to notch security.

Although i hope we can get the CIA etc to train Somali spies etc.

Are they general infantry soldiers? Also why Eritrea?
Afwerki has 200k troops trained, Eritrea is basically a giant military camp with experience fighting a larger nation.

The 5000 Eritrean trained troops might not be as good as Turkish ones and nowhere near the American ones but it still will be a heavy edge against terrorists.

Eritrea also will help Somalia in how to solidify control .

You are right, Somaliland wants to make Somalia it's enemy but we don't want to. Siad Barre attacked Isaaq as he slowly went erratic towards 1991.

Somalia is pushing for a democratic nation not a dictatorial one. As the south becomes economically stronger we might see centralization and security improve. Somalilanders will then begin to enter Mogadishu at a higher rate( although you already see a tonne in mogadishu)

Furthermore, we have already seen FGS forays into pro-Somalia Somaliland claimed cities like Buuhodle and Badhan further reducing it's legitimacy. We also see alot of northerners joining the military exposing their unity mindset.

Finally the Isaaq hegemonic base is detoriating as it becomes increasingly divisive between Garxajis and non-Garxajis which stem from the 1994 inter-Isaaq war. Consequently we already see that most of the Somaliland ministers are from that subclans of Isaaq like Mahdi M Gulaid.

All these reasons and more make me inclined to believe Somaliland won't get recognition.

they could have bribed xamar warlords to sign secession papers in the 90s which would give them a much better case in front of beesha caalamka but they decided inay qal isku xiraan.
