I would like to see a source for his data. 72%? Plus most of social housing is brought up by their tenants, the simple fact is that it is easier to get into social housing and buy that house than to do mortgages.
Simple fact us if the made a method to buy house that was interest free then that percentage would be nearly nothing. But if they did that they would complain that the system is rigged. For example look at when Canda offers Muslim mortgages and how non Muslims complained.

The community need to be smart about how to solve this. Frame it as a Muslim issue. I think I talked about Bengalis before, 40% of them live in social housing, yet their school results are on par with East Asians.
Somalis cannot progress outside of this housing if we aren’t given an opportunity to buy these homes interest-free.

I don't understand why uk Somalis are stuck on mortgages and no ribba. for instance all Somali in the states do mortgages.My parent paid off 3 house by doing mortgages. When your in the west act like the western to get successful. Everything has ribba in all western countries even appartment have ribba your paying for someone else.

Simple question: are you Muslim? Because if you are, then you should know that taking riba is haram and is like waging war against Allah. There’s no necessity to take riba, and you can’t pay for someone else’s riba. If I pay rent to my landlord and he chooses to use that to pay his mortgage, that sin is on him.
