Why are you guys giving any attention to this? The only reason Captain Philips and by extension Barkhad Abdi was known was because it had Tom Hanks in it. Unless this movie has a famous actor too then it will be easily forgotten. Don't cause a Streisand effect and just ignore this movie.

What's the film even called? Who is directing it? What's the distributor? I haven't seen any sources or information about this movie beyond just a few threads on here.
Let me brutal here. Have we as a people done anything to deserve good representation. If I type Somalia on Google I get flooded by war, hunger and drought. Maybe it's time we stop considering what people think of us and actually work on fixing ourselves. Once the big issues are tackled we can make our own stuff catered to our own people. Hollywood has a hold on everything and they are not kind to anyone that isn't western European. They still make "Russia bad guy" generations after the cold war.
Personally I'm not going to let go of my identity because some freak in Pedowood is making the same 5 films. If this movie even comes out, most just fall through because they're dog shit, then I won't pay it any mind. I doubt anyone is excited to watch a film about Somali pirates like it's the next avengers.
