We were once the land of poets, but now we barely practice our once great arts. You want to renovate the somali image, you have to have people on the inside.

Look at the jews. When movies started they were depicted as the worst thing ever. But after generations they were able to put Jewish writers into Hollywood and soon the narrative switched. We need to stop consuming wester/Indian movies and consider making our own media.

Also support somali creators in media. If you haven't go watch The Gravedigger's Wife. It's a great film that humanize our people and is probably the best Somali film I've seen.
