al-Mu'tamid المعتمد
عِشْ مَا شِئْتَ فَإِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ
إِنَّ لِلَّهِ عِباداً فُطَنا *** تَرَكوا الدُنيا وَخافوا الفِتَنا
نَظَروا فيها فَلَمّا عَلِموا *** أَنَّها لَيسَت لِحَيٍّ وَطَنا
جَعَلوها لُجَّةً وَاِتَّخَذوا *** صالِحَ الأَعمالِ فيها سُفُنا
Indeed, Allah has discerning servants,
They forsook the world, fearing its strife.
They observed it and when they knew,
That it is not a homeland for the living.
They made it an ocean and took,
Righteous deeds as ships therein.
نَظَروا فيها فَلَمّا عَلِموا *** أَنَّها لَيسَت لِحَيٍّ وَطَنا
