A woman’s love is always conditional

Unfortunately its a taboo for a somali woman to seek divorce in our culture and maybe that’s why they stick around with looser men longer because they have 6 kids together to support.

But this is a problem in religious conservative communities. I have aunts that have married 3-4 times with kids already.

Kudos to your aunties🤣

All love, except parental love, is conditional. Don't fall for the "soulmate" meme sxb, there's an expiration date on non-parental love. It's a bitter pill to swallow but that's just the harsh reality.

Do you mean parental love? I'm sure the love our hooyos have for us is also unconditional.

Unconditional love in romance would be horrible. Imagine never parting with a psychopath, narc, or sociopath. No thanks. One must always use their critical faculties.

Somali women (on average) are dumber and more naive than other women. They have a child-like belief system which is why you see them marry bums regardless of ethnicity. Only a Somali woman is happy to keep a loser in her household because she wrongly believes he’ll change for her.

Outside of the Somali bubble, ‘love’ is conditional. Men want sex with an attractive woman and women want provision/security etc. His point is that most men think like the other user and that a woman will love him like his mother when it’s not true at all. Women of other ethnicities know this is true and understand how to work their way around it.
A broken clock is right twice a day, and I’ll admit that what you’re saying here is true with regards to Somali women. A lot accept such low standards that I’m left scratching my head. But, unconditional love is only reserved for your children and Allah. To love another adult means to have conditions.

Is it taboo when we have a high divorce rate and lots of single mothers? The kids thing is sad because a lot have children just to keep the husband, who ends up leaving her for her younger version anyways. Better to limit them to a number that you can handle alone.

Kinda is tbh. Especially in situations when the wife can't get a divorce. Islamically, talaq is reserved for the husband. So if you want a divorce, you have to ask your husband and if he refuses you need to go for khula or fasaqk, but in the West we don't have any proper Islamic courts. So usually, Somali women would have to appeal to their family and toll (clan) and 9/10 times they will pressure her to be patient even if he is the world's worst husband.

That is what I meant.

100%. The person who's less invested in a relationship normally has more leverage, unconditional love would make that x10 worse. Abuse would be rampant.

"I know she keeps fucking all my friends/co-workers/neighbors/relatives behind my back, but I just can't seem walk away from her bro". That's a fate worse than death wallahi looool

No. The one who loves more is braver. The other one is overcome with cowardice or simply isn't capable.

But they say love and be wise for a reason.

Also can you really love someone who treats you unjustly? I think not. You can love the idea you had about this person (when masks were on) and be invested in who you thought they were but not in the unbecoming behavior they exhibited. In the above scenario you must choose you. Run, @Nak-Muay-Kru, run into the arms of your dignity and never look back.

Terrifying.

Somali people and marriage, close to each other like a shadow to a person. Men need to realise that women want looks and security. You pay the bills etc. Same way a man want wants a hot young wife. While this is not true for all, large amount of people think like this.

It's not cowardice walaalo macaan, some of us have been burnt in the past:mjcry::mjcry:

There's definitely an element of them still loving the idealized version of the person they created in the own heads and an overall lack of self-esteem/dignity, but more often than not I think they fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy.

I'd sooner drink a litre of brake fluid than stick around in that cheating scenario looooool
