Abiy Ahmed inaugurates Oil & Gas Projects in the Somali Region

It doesn’t matter what percent The Somali Region (not Ogaden) gets. There will be no extraction of any sort of resources from the Somali region until Abyssinian occupation ends. And that is a firm red line
Somali Galbeed being stable, at peace, and receiving development through investments and job opportunities is good actually

They are not truly under a direct occupation, they have pretty much demilitarized the area.

Pre-2018 Ogaden was governed through militarization and not a local civilian administration like it is now.

Besides the immediate public good it creates, it also strengthens their long-term case. Back when the region was under military occupation and constant resistance, the instability was used as an excuse to undermine their demands for autonomy, development, and political inclusion.

Now, with Ogaden being the most peaceful and stable part of Ethiopia, they’re building functional local governance, attracting investments, and driving economic development. On top of that, they’re able to reach out to other regions and even foreign partners, strengthening both diplomatic and economic ties.
