Amhara are the architects of modern day Ethiopia why would they relegate themselves to their small northern stronghold when they can rule all of Ethiopia? Of course they're going to need some Oromo along on board which they will surely get, the Wellega, Shewa, and Wollo oromos will gladly share the pie. They're not going to bring back the outdated monarchy that's stupid and will just bring about strong opposition., but they will bring about centralized rule and get rid of these fake kilils. It doesn't matter what most ethnic groups want because they're too powerless to do anything, in Ethiopia only a few chess pieces matter in shaping the country.
