As a former resident of Galkacyo and the home of both sides of my family for over a century.

Galkacyo isn't pretty.

Garowe is a 1st world country compared to it.

I remember Galkacyo had two paved roads in 2015: Waddada Xero Dayax iyo Waddada Wadnaha.

Lots of roads have been paved since, for exampel Jaamac Biixi rd that goes from former Xero Daraawiish to Xero Siinaay, the road leading to the airport, and many other, smaller, roads. Better late than never.

Jamac biixi road was paved in 2015, the road behind hotel classic was being paved, and yes the road to the airport was being paved as well.

Still the place is a shambles.

Houses built in the middle of the street, no space to even build a dual-carriageway road, rocks everywhere.

Galkacyo deserves to be demolished and rebuilt. The place is horrendous by Somali standards.

Don't get me started on baraxley, that place is 10th world nation.

That’s where Garacad comes in the picture
