Galbeed is the accent of all gabays and songs aswell as anything else culturally Somali, Mudug is close enough to that accent so it should be the standard in Somalia
This is the generals behaveShut up Kikuyu
don't just believe what western somalis write about somalis and their culture. you have to be a fob in order to understand the difference between somali dialects. galbeed somali is under waqooye dialect which means that it's closer to any other waqooye accent rather than mudug.Galbeed is the accent of all gabays and songs aswell as anything else culturally Somali, Mudug is close enough to that accent so it should be the standard in Somalia

Not really but it depends where you are Ogadens dont do the DH/R thing. Galbeed Somali is hard to tell because it’s extremely standard with little regional traits (it has some different vocabulary however but no errors with any letters)don't just believe what western somalis write about somalis and their culture. you have to be a fob in order to understand the difference between somali dialects. galbeed somali is under waqooye dialect which means that it's closer to any other waqooye accent rather than mudug.

Most Somalis speak Northern Somali which divides into North Western & North Eastern(that most people speak). North Eastern is obviously the clearest & the most formal. North westerners sound like hillbillys

Ogadens in Dhagaxbur zone however do speak closer to reer waqooyi than most others. They are almost always Reer abti for them.
Qabri Dahare is the epicenter of classical Af-Somali, but it doesn’t lie within Somalias borders.
This is not as extreme as I had in mind but it’s similar to thisSome of the extreme waqooyi accents sound as odd as the extreme Reer Xamar “CadCad” ones. Not all people from waqooyi have it, but it sounds like they have a heavy tongue and are slurring their words, I’ll try to find an example. Pretty much every other region sounds standard and similar to me.
As a North Eastern speaker i am a member of high society by default. I wouldnt dream of being biased walaal. Like the southern American accent the North Western accent has its charm whilst also having the same drawbacksThe Northwest has its various permutations. Not everyone from there is boisterous. Also, many of the Radio Mogadishu personalities came from there along with many actors, singers and play writes so it was not entrirely nails on chalk. In fact one could say it was highly appreciated back then.
I'm sensing a clear bias here.
the main differences is how somalis pronounce words rather than vocabulary. I don't know how you guys determine different dialects but for me, my brain immediate recognizes non waqooye dialect. somalis from jigjiga, dire dawa and other parts of k5 don't sound alien. mudug and banadiri dialect however def sound alien. Not really but it depends where you are Ogadens dont do the DH/R thing.
