Southern clans don't need to support AS, they need to see AS as the better option over the government. Meaning, they need to believe that by supporting the government over Al Shabab, they'll lose more. At the moment, it's the opposite. The world won't let Al Shabab take over Somalia again so the most dominant clans who "won" the civil war believe it's in their benefits to support the government in order to solidify their gains. All it takes for the southern clans to stop "supporting" the government is if the world stops funding AMISOM and if Ethiopia doesn't intervene in Somalia. That's pretty weak.
