It's a disgrace. They could spare a few 100k and lease a regional aircraft for a few routes.

Leasing a boeing 747 including with 450 seats costs them $22k an hour, per seat it's less than 50 dollar per hour. It's a two hour flight from Dubai, so if you charge 100 dollars pp you covered your expenses.

They lack any kind of imagination and assertiveness.

They should offer exclusive rights for routes out of Bosaso for a period and offer a partnership to private investors who are willing to front the money. They don't care as long as they fly in their little turbo prop.

The aviation sector in Puntland is in deep coma. Jubbaairways is charging 600 dollars for a 2 hour flight. But then again if a illiterate guy like Axmed Karaash is the aviation minister we can't expect much.
