Tell her to stay away from Tukwila, Seatac and the whole side of town. If she can afford it, South Lake Union, albeit a little expensive, is a great place to live as everything's within walking distance. There's über and zipcar if you're feeling adventurous to go eat at Somali restaurants.
If not South Lake Union, I would recommend West Seattle. Alki Beach is at your doorstep and offers many attractions if you don't mind the tourists.
