Don't be naive, there is no way working with Kenya or Ethiopia will result in a strong Somali government that will rival them. They won't allow it. With that said, read it up again, in 2007 ONLF was the reason why they were in kismaayo. This was when onlf killed 75 of their soldiers and some dozen indhayars for trying to dig up Oil in ogaden. They removed hassan turki(don't forget he was fighting them a year earlier in hamar), and the ethiopians considered if ogaden were to dominate kismayo, onlf would definitely have an ally there. don't u remember hiiraale saying onlf was part of the people that kicked him out? Why do u think he said that if it wasn't to get support from Ethiopia? They gave the city to taano like I said earlier, so clearly, they weren't after a port. Again, google it.
If we are going to be honest, farmaajo isn't smart nor is he experienced in politics. If he really wanted to achieve success, he should worked on building a national army before anything else. He should've left maamul leaders alone, allow them to do whatever they are doing. Build an army, improve security in the capital and once you have strong enough of an army, you can easily arrest or remove any maamul leader you want. But he wants to fight everyone when alshabab is dropping bombs in his place of sleep, it won't work. If farmaajo had 40k somali army who are paid by the government, do you think madoobe would be able to tell him to fuk off? Farmaajo is mixing up his priority, he's in a rush, he's reaching for things he can't get.
As the somali saying goes, "ushaada qof aad ka qaadan karto baa loo dhiibtaa". maamul gobol leaders would have no choice but to submit to the govenment if the government is strong enough.
