To be honest, this was not a bad showing against a team ranked 100+ places higher, and with professional players that have a combined market value of $190+ million. Yet Somalia scored, denied them a massive goal difference, and had plenty of close chances itself, plus suffered an own goal unfortunately.

Number 8, 5, 4 and 3’s absences were felt on the field today. A good captain, two strong defenders and a good striker still in their prime. It’s really annoying that they were left off the squad because they made a complaint against the Somali Sports Federation’s president for NOT organising more friendlies and playing time for the team, and not even registering the squad for the AFCON qualifiers.

I hate that some fat oday with a grudge can torch these guys aspirations, and leave the team weaker than it was before.

The Algerian squad are French rejects and most have tried to get into French leagues and have been in the game longer with better training and funding hence losing against them is nothing special. As long as they had fun thats all that matters.
