I made the women's version, so here's the male one. Here's a link to the women's version if anyone needs it.
NOTE: The names vary alot so if anyone has anything to add please do.
Go' Huwasho / Labo Go'
A full body wrapped white cotton cloth, either with only one or two pieces. Sometimes the cloth is coloured/patterned. The man in the first picture is wearing a xirsi (amulet) on his head, and is holding a waran (spear).
For the two piece variant, sometimes the second cloth is used to cover the head as well as the torso.
There's a shorter variant of the lower half.
Hoosguunti
Lower body wrap, typically plain white cotton but can be patterned. Nomads often wore a duub (headwrap) to keep off the sun, and the belt (kishad) is traditionally brown/red. The billawe (Sword) is strapped onto the belt.
Guunti gaab
Shorter lower body wrap, typically plain white cotton but can be patterned.
Macawis
Modern more vibrant and patterened variant of Hoosguunti. You can see a koofiyad (religious hat) in the second picture.
All (known) Women's Cultural Attire
Back from a long hiatus and I want to share (and be corrected) about Somali cultural attire, I'll make a men's version if I can be bothered lol Here are all costumes that I have come across so far: Sadex Qayd: Arguably the oldest attire for women, it has many variants. CLASSIC SADEX QAYD Key...
