Why the hell is Somaliland burning its bridges with Ethiopia? If you are a hungry man, why burn your only meal ticket? The Berbera-Addis corridor is the economic future for Somaliland, essentially integration into the Ethiopian economy in the lucrative service sector. Why do you want the UAE to base Egyptian mercenaries in Berbera that makes Ethiopia less likely to use it? Ethiopia will not place its trust in Berbera, like it does in Djibouti, becauee it will be under the control of its geopolitical enemies. Good relations with Ethiopia are paramount if Somaliland wants recognition, this is the opposite of that.

Egyptians aren't going to use the base. And Djibouti is already at over capacity which is part of the reason why the Berbera port deal was made in the first place.

Ethiopia doesn't have much choice other than to use Berbera port.
