Alternate reality: Somalia adopted osmanya script

Latin is helpful when learning English and sinilar languages while wadaad has existed for several hundred years. What practical advantage does osmanya provide besides muh ego
Osmanya would have been a unique writing system. It would have been another faan for your identity, and you would have been proud that colonizers and Arabs didn't have much influence on it. Additionally, Ethiopia is not the only country with a unique writing system in Africa; Somalia would have been the second country.

Several Osmanya letters are based off Latin characters.

Having a unique writing system doesn't mean anything if it leads to reduced literacy in order to implement it and no real historical value.

Osmanya is a Somali creation, whether there is a letter that resembles another letter of a different writing system or it was inspired by one.

It is one I can claim as Somali invention

Whether a writing system is new or old, it does not necessarily have an impact on the literacy rate of a country. Writing systems are simply a tool for representing language.

The availability of resources, such as money, can have a significant impact on education and literacy rates.

Lack of financial resources can make it difficult for schools to provide quality education, and can limit access to educational materials and resources for students. Conversely, increased funding for education can help to improve literacy rates and promote educational opportunities for all

and no real historical value.
What the heck are y'all talking about with 'historical value'? Do you lack the ability to innovate? It seems like you are more interested in copying something than inventing something new.

No wonder they say African never invent anything.
