If Ethiopia goes ahead with the MOU, the FGS should help arm the FANO. I don't see this as very risky to Somalis in Ethiopia and it will destabilize Ethiopia. The FANO won't win but they will damage the ENDF.

It’s not entirely impossible. If a Habashi alliance were formed and the Amhara mended ties with the Tigrayans, there’s a slim chance they could fare better against the Oromo 'monster' they helped create by combining their efforts and their shared history of tyranny over the Oromo.

Abiy and Eritrea assisted Fano back then. Eritrea assisted the Afar forces and liberated Afar, Eritrea assisted Ethiopian soldiers, hosted them, hospitalized them and gave them all kind of military assistance.

Then in November 2022 Abiy Ahmed signed a peace agreement with TPLG

But the war in the Amhara region between fano and Abiy (federal government) started in spring 2023.

ATMIS, including Ethiopia's troops, are in Somalia under the express consent of the Somali government. This is not at all a comparable to Ethiopia making a deal with an FMS to gain commercial & military access without the consent of the Federal Republic of Somalia

You are comparing apples and oranges.

ps. If you believe in Somaliland, then Puntland troops stationed at Oog are foreigners occupying 40% of your country. @TheLand is absolutely correct to make that point.
